NO SUCH ST is the most recent monograph on Mandla Reuters work. It was published on the occasion of his exhibition at Kunsthalle Basel in 2013 and his show A Plot at De Vleeshal in Middelburg, The Netherland, in 2011. Next to installation views the publication features photographs of individual works as well as contributions by Lorenzo Benedetti, Fabian Schöneich and Adrian Williams.
At the centre of these exhibitions and this publication is a plot of land situated in Los Angeles and owned by Reuter. There were no images of this plot in the shows. Instead, Reuter triangulates its location from various sides and in different ways, but without addressing it or representing it directly. This multifaceted approach generates several interpretations and places a question mark over the reality and existence of the land. This questioned reality is referenced even more forcefully by the existing objects and industrially produced materials that play a dominant role in the show and now in the publication.
