Unter einem Dach brought together fourteen young people aged 9 to 14 to discover the world of architecture and art in weekly afternoon workshops.
After a playful and inspiring exploration of the city and visits to the studios of Atelierhaus Klingental, the participants met with Andreas Bründler, architect at Buchner Bründler, in his studio. They got an intimate view into the work of architectural experts and exchanged thoughts and ideas with the professionals and each other.
In the studio of the artist and architect Andreas Schneider, the participants realized their own visionary models of rooms and artworks, which were presented on Theaterplatz Basel.
Unter einem Dach was an art education project initiated by Kunsthalle Basel in collaboration with S AM Swiss Architecture Museum, supported by Swisslos-Fonds Basel-Stadt.
The project culminated in the publication of a city map inspired by the visionary models developed by the youths. The map is available in the bookshop at Kunsthalle Basel or on request .
