Lucy Skaer explores historical objects, some of which are consciously perceived as they circulate in public space while others are not, and re-contextualizes them through transfer to other media. This is also the principle according to which the edition operates that was produced on the occasion of Skaer’s exhibition at Kunsthalle Basel in 2009. The edition was made using the same technique as for the printing of British Pound banknotes, but with different designs of which there are three variations: “Tollund Man,” “Ship of Fools,” and “Robert Capa.”
