This wall piece was lovingly crafted from oak by Daniel Dewar and Grégory Gicquel with motifs seen in their exhibition Mammalian Fantasies 2019. Protruding fingers and body parts create a sensuous conflation between the smooth, oiled wood surface and surreal corporeality. To make the edition, they combined their usual intensive manual labor with that of a now-obsolete mechanical copy-carving machine.
