Daniel Dewar (geb. 1976) und Grégory Gicquel (geb. 1975) erschaffen bildhauerische Gegenstände, welche traditionelles Kunsthandwerk, figurative Motive und eine wild surreale Sensibilität in sich vereinen. In ihrer ersten institutionellen Ausstellung in der Schweiz präsentiert das britisch-französische Künstlerduo ein Ensemble aus neu in Auftrag gegebenen und jüngst entstandenen Holzskulpturen, in denen Körperfragmente von Menschen und anderen Säugetieren auftauchen. Sie benutzen scheinbar anachronistische Produktionsweisen, um abgetrennte menschliche Arme oder Darmtrakte sowie Ochsenköpfe oder Riesenkaninchen aus hölzernen Wandelementen, Schränken oder Schubladen heraus zu schnitzen. Die Ergebnisse zelebrieren die Entschleunigung und das Analoge und lassen die Unterscheidungen zwischen Funktionalität, Dekoration und auratischer Wirkung brüchig werden.
